My Australian Pantry Purchases

Wow!  Day Seven already.

So our prompt today is, "Since moving abroad, my pantry looks different because… "

This is hilarious.  Didn't I just go on and on ad nauseam yesterday about all the food differences?  So I thought I could just show you my stuff and tell you about it.

Remember that you can click on the photos to see them larger.

Okay.  Let's start with the photo above.

Top Shelf (L-R):

  • Vanish - these are crystals you add to your wash.  The pink container is for coloured clothing.  There is also a white container for your whites only.
  • The white container with a yellow label (sorry, I should have turned it around) is Pine Cleen wipes... think Clorox wipes.  Same thing.
  • Next to that is our Karcher Window Vac WV50 Plus
  • Then our rice cooker
  • Finally, my beloved Cajun seasoning (thanks for sending this, Tee)
Bottom Shelf (L-R):
  • Easy Mac
  • Kid's pasta bowl
  • VitaWeat crackers in 12 grain
  • Light bulbs
  • Honey
  • Sesame Thins w Yogurt
  • Splenda/Sugar
  • Toward the back I can see vegetable oil, spaghetti sauce, syrup, teriyaki sauce and A-1 sauce (bought this from USA Foods)

More shelves

Top Shelf (L-R):

  • Nature Valley Crunchy Bars (maple flavour)
  • Masterfoods American mustard
  • Kraft Grated Parmesan
  • Tuna
  • Best Foods mayonnaise
  • Viva olive oil
  • Nonstick spray (like Pam)
  • There's some baking stuff in the back
Bottom Shelf (L-R):
  • Viva Paper towels (but for some reason, not like the ones in the states)
  • Spaghetti
  • Dolce Gusto coffee pods (I have one of those machines)
  • Powdered sugar and brown sugar (we got ants and I had to do this with a lot of stuff)

And the final shelf - see the ant traps?  LOL

Again, left to right:

  • Pepsi Max - Mr. Smith will never give up his soda.  I have it delivered in bulk from Woolworth's so that we don't have to carry copious amounts home.
  • Glad trash bags
  • White King bleach
  • Mortein bug spray (again, for the stupid ants)
  • Windex
  • Febreeze
  • Lots of bathroom cleaning products

Thought I would throw in the refrigerator, too.

1st Shelf: Philly Cream Cheese, Dairy Farmers Cottage Cheese, Rekorderlig Strawberry & Lime cider, Kopparberg Raspberry cider, crumpets, water, Shape nonfat milk, fruit mix and Strongbow Sweet cider

2nd Shelf:  Twiggy sticks (hot pepperoni) in butcher paper, canned ham, cookies

3rd Shelf:  Leftover chicken + cheese tortellini and sauce, Freckles chocolates with 100s and 1000s, Sunblest mini loaf of bread, leftover rotisserie chicken

4th Shelf:  Pepsi Max

Left Drawer:  Cheeses and a meat pie

Right Drawer:  Deli ham, deli chicken, oranges and grapes

So this may seem crazy, but this is what I'm hoping a lot of other bloggers do.  I love being a voyeur into other people's lives.  Enjoy my bad diet.  LOL

Other than this, I eat out quite a lot.  Or I eat lots of frozen food like plain ole pepperoni pizza or chicken stuffed with ham and cheese, mashed potatoes...  I don't like much.

  1. Hey, I recognize that Creole seasoning, my brother loves the stuff. He spent some time living in New Orleans & developed a taste for it. Man, now I want a cider!

  2. I love taking a peek into everyone's kitchen, too!
Oh, and my husband is the same about Coke Zero. His obsession is kind of legendary.

  3. I enjoyed your tour very much. I'm glad you included your refrigerator. I thought about devoting a whole post just to our fridge, because that's changed a lot more than our pantry has after moving to Australia. Also, we are plagued by ants too, especially in the summer!
