Final Post on Growth Charts

Well, this is going to be my last post on the growth charts.  They are finished except that I have no idea how I'm going to hang them.  I don't have time to hand sew a pouch.  I can't machine sew one on because it puts stitches in the front where I don't want stitches.  I could maybe add some tabs.  Perhaps I'll do that.  I have no idea.

But anyhoo...  here are my final pics.

Sewing the binding is the final step!
You sew all the way to the end... except the final 1/4 inch

After you sew to the first point in the corner, you fold the binding up by hand.

Then you fold down and begin stitching at the top.

See the stitching at the top of the right corner?
To join the binding, you want to make sure you have lots of un-sewed binding.
At least 12 inches in the middle like you see here.

There are some complicated tutorials out there, but I finally found one that works for me.
I won't go into detail.  If you are a quilter, I'm sure you can find the same tutorials.

Up close of where I need to cut the mitered edge.
Here it is after being cut and hand-pressed.

Next, you flip over the piece and fold over the binding.

Anyhoo...  moving on.  LOL

I have no idea how this
happened to my needle.

So these are the finished products.  Still have no idea how I'm going to hang them.  ???

Any ideas from anyone else who sews out there?

Our Easter 2013

We drove south down to Grand Pacific Drive.  At the other end, we went to Robertson's Pie Shop and then to the Illawarra Tree Top Walk.  Afterwards, we went to Fitzroy Falls.

I thought that the Illawarra Tree Top Walk was very nice, but pricey at $24 per person.  Fitzroy Falls was a better deal at $3 parking fee only.  :)

Enjoy the photos!

Australian Cantaloupe

Apparently they call it "rockmelon."
