Pinterest

Does anyone use this app? Can you explain to me why I should use it? I've always thought that Twitter is pretty useless, but obviously it caught on. I tried several times to get into it, but I just cannot.

So is Pinterest just like Twitter?

  1. entirely up to you ..... I didn't think I would use it at all, but decided to give it a try for a week.

Am happy that I did ...

I created 'boards' before I became too involved in the 'browsing' .... one board is for any photography idea's / hints etc...

another board is for any worthwhile recipes I come across.

My travel board is purely there to remind me of places I would like to see one day or perhaps return to in the future!

But the ones I make more use of are ones for the house .... when we were in Singapore and leased an apartment I knew that one day I would need to have a few decorating idea's for when we repatriated to Australia and redecorating our home.. so as I came across things I liked on the internet, I just "saved" them to the appropriate 'board' on Pinterest. Some for the bathroom, some for the kitchen etc etc ...

I never went looking for anything, it was just as I came across anything I liked that I actually 'pinned' them to my boards. Am so glad I did this over the past 12 mths. Now we are renovating our home here in Australia and I passed on the idea's that I had collected to the builder and he has been incorporating them into our 'new' kitchen and elsewhere.

Not all things I 'pin' are from Pinterest, most are from other websites / travel blogs etc and so "pin" them from there to my pinterest boards.

It takes a few days to get the hang of how best to use it, but its nothing like twitter / facebook / flickr etc ... it is a totally different application in its own right. Some people will 'follow' you, but you dont have to 'follow' them ...

have a good look around, maybe see if you can locate my boards. That way you will have a better understanding of what I am rambling on about. :)

    ciao, Leone Fabre
