Obviously, I'm writing this post the day after Christmas. It's also known as Boxing Day here in Australia. Yesterday was a wonderful day. I turned 40 years old yesterday. I know that a lot of people don't like talking about their age. Not me. I'm so happy to be here.
So we took this trip to Hamilton Island to celebrate my birthday more than anything. Mr. Smith knows that I have been wanting a massage for some time now, so I booked one for my special day. I had an hour-long relaxation massage. It was very nice and, of course, relaxing.
We also planned a sunset kayak tour. Neither one of us had been kayaking before and we both loved it. We met (eight of us total, including the instructor) at 4:45pm. There was a brief tutorial on how to get in and out of the kayak and how to steer and paddle. We were off by about 5:00pm or so.
We paddled out to a nice spot, then tied all our kayaks together and dropped anchor. We all sipped champagne for over an hour. Just talking and getting to know each other. Some pics below.
