Life's Not Fair :(

My sister's daughter was in the hospital for a week recently. They found a small cyst on her right kidney, but thought that they could just keep an eye on it through ultrasound. Now they've found that she has reflux in her bladder. Instead of urine leaving through the bladder, it is going back up into her kidneys. The "solution" is to put her on antibiotics every day for two years hoping to keep her from getting any more urinary tract infections. If in the next two years she DOES get a urinary tract infection, they will have to perform surgery. Have I mentioned that she's not even two years old yet?
